Consultation and Engagement Framework for Greater Sydney Parklands

Greater Sydney Parklands is committed to understanding and responding to the needs and aspirations of all those with a passion for Sydney’s open space and parklands.

Greater Sydney Parklands invited you to provide feedback on our Draft Consultation and Engagement Framework from August to October 2022. A ‘What we heard’ report summarising key community and stakeholder feedback, including how we have used this feedback to update the Framework, has been published below.

The revised Consultation and Engagement Framework was also presented to the newly established community trustee boards for feedback. The Framework was then submitted to the Minister for Infrastructure, Cities and Active Transport in February 2023. Greater Sydney Parklands is pleased to announce the Consultation and Engagement Framework was approved by the Minister on 28 February 2023. The approved version has been published below.

The Consultation and Engagement Framework is designed to:

   Provide guidance about how Greater Sydney Parklands will consult and engage with park users and visitors, and the community more generally on matters relating to the Parklands Estate
2. 2
   Outline the wide range of opportunities to find out more about and have your say on parkland matters, including details relating to the establishment and operation of community trustee boards
3. 3
   Build on engagement initiatives undertaken to date by Greater Sydney Parklands and respond to the specific requirements for community consultation set out in the Greater Sydney Parklands Trust Act 2022.
